Sea of Darkness by Isadora BrownMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Sea of Darkness the first book in The Vampire Pirates Saga is a fantastic start for the series. The book starts with introduction of a Kelia Starling, the strong female lead of the book, who is not any ordinary teenager but a well trained and ambitious Slayer who fights Shadows (Vampires). After a successful mission, a short catch up with her dad and debriefing to her handler, she receives the news of her father's death. She doesn't believes that her father had taken his own life and tries to find out the truth. In the quest of finding answers, she meets Andrew Knight, a famous powerful shadow pirate whom the society of East India Company in which Kelia is a part wants to catch and kill him. How far she goes to get Justice for her father and in saving the people she respects is the remaining part of the story.
This book also describes about how the hard exterior frightening powerful Vampire meets a human and develops a soft spot for her, respects her, cares for her and ready to take any risk for her.
Enjoyed reading the book, it's a complete page turner and fasting paced. Immediately going to continue with the second book to learn what happens next.
